My Thoughts About the George Zimmerman Trial Verdict

It took me 30 minutes after it hit the news to find out that Mr. George Zimmerman was found “Not Guilty” by a jury of six women. I had to get Kendra’s attention to break her the news. She was mad and shocked. I didn’t know how to feel at first. I sort of had a feeling that the jury wasn’t going to do their job by issuing a conviction to George Zimmerman.

It is a sad day for George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin’s family

It’s a sad day for George Zimmerman because he will not ever be “free” again. Even though he walks out of the courtroom free, he will not be able to be in the public eye freely again. He will not be able to even go to a gas station without encountering conflict. He won’t be able to go to the mall or even go for a jog. So basically, he didn’t win by walking free from killing Trayvon Martin.

It’s a sad day for Trayvon Martin’s family because justice wasn’t served. It’s terrible that they have to go on with an empty void. Nobody really knows what happened on the night of the incident but Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman, and God. At the end of it all, God is the final judge. I hope not to see riots or acts of violence carried out in the wake of this verdict. With that being said, protest in a peaceful way and let things carry it’s  course.

Make it a great day!
